Temperate Climate- are wet, but not as rainy as tropical rainforests.
Trees- There are about 10 -2 0 species of trees in temperate rainforests that are mostly coniferous, meaning they have needles. Tropical rainforests have a bigger variety of trees with hundreds of species. These trees, mostly in the tropical regions, are very important because they give off a lot of Earth’s oxygen.
Tropical Climate- are lush and warm all year long. Temperatures don’t change very much between night and day.
Other plants- One type of plant often found in a rain forest is an epiphyte. Epiphytes are plants that live on the surface of other plants.
Rain- lots of rain in rainforests helps regulate the rest of the world’s climate and weather.
Animals-A common characteristic found among mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians, is an adaptation to living in trees.
Humidity- since it rains a lot in the rainforest, humidity is really high. Sometimes it is so humid that that moisture on the plants and in the air creates rain itself.
Insects and bugs-Most of the insects that live in the rainforest live in tree bark, decomposing dead plant matter, or mossy areas.
Importance of Ecosystem:Rainforests are important because they help maintain global weather patterns and rain. Rainforests recycle and clean the water in the water cycle. Tropical rainforest trees and plants also remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it in their roots, stems, leaves, and branches. Rainforests affect the greenhouse effect, which traps heat inside the Earth's atmosphere. We also get a lot of our food from rainforests like cashew nuts, Brazil nuts, Macadamia nuts, bananas, plantains, pineapple, cucumber, cocoa, coffee, tea, avocados, papaya, guava, mango, cassava, tapioca, yams, sweet potato, okra, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, mace, ginger, cayenne pepper, cloves, oranges, grapefruit, lemons, limes, passion fruit, peanuts, rice, sugar cane, and coconuts. http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/rainforest/

Conservation Plan: The tropical rainforest is home to many plants and animals. About half of the medicines doctors prescribe us comes for these plants and animals in the rainforest. Rainforests also give us vanilla, rope and gum (etc.) so we wouldn't have most of the stuff we use today. Since the forests are disappearing some plants and animals are going endangered.
